Product Description |
Basalt fiber grid is a high-performance geosynthetic material made from continuous basalt fibers, which are produced by melting natural volcanic rock at high temperature. It is woven into a stable grid structure via biaxial warp knitting and coated with asphalt or polymer for better performance.
It features high tensile strength, excellent resistance to acid, alkali, corrosion and extreme temperatures (-260°C to 650°C). Lightweight yet durable, it helps prevent cracks, distribute loads and extend the service life of roads, bridges and other infrastructure.
Environmentally friendly and cost-effective, it is widely used in the reinforcement of the structural stability of pavements, foundations, and various ground applications. Engineered for durability, basalt Geogrid enhances load-bearing capacity and extends the lifespan of asphalt and concrete surfaces, offering an efficient, sustainable alternative to traditional reinforcement methods.
Basalt fiber geogrid serves as a superior alternative to traditional steel and glass fiber reinforcements in civil engineering projects. Like all the basalt articles it is an ecologically safe material.

Feature introduction |
1. High Tensile Strength & Low Elongation
Basalt fiber geogrid delivers exceptional tensile strength (outperforming common fibers and metals) with a low breaking elongation rate of less than 3%, offering excellent deformation resistance.
2. Superior Physical & Chemical Stability
This durable basalt fiber geogrid resists acids, alkalis, abrasion, corrosion, biological attack, and climate changes, maintaining stable performance long-term.
3. Zero Long-Term Creep
As a reliable reinforcement material, basalt fiber geogrid prevents deformation under sustained loads, ensuring consistent structural properties for decades.
4. Excellent Thermal Stability
With a melting point over 1500°C, basalt fiber geogrid performs reliably from -260°C to 650°C, even during high-temperature asphalt paving.
5. Anti-Fatigue & Crack Resistance
Basalt fiber geogrid disperses vehicle-induced stresses in asphalt layers, reducing fatigue damage. Its low elongation minimizes pavement deflection and prevents excessive deformation.
6. High-Temperature Rutting Resistance
Acting as a rigid skeleton in asphalt concrete, basalt fiber geogrid forms a mechanical locking system with aggregates, restricting movement and preventing pavement rutting.
7. Low-Temperature Crack Resistance
Basalt fiber geogrid boosts asphalt’s tensile strength, preventing shrinkage cracks at low temperatures. It also diffuses stress to stop existing cracks from propagating.
8. High Asphalt Compatibility
Specially coated basalt fiber geogrid bonds seamlessly with asphalt mixtures, eliminating delamination and ensuring long-lasting integration in pavement layers |
